Brings Together Medical Directors and Center Directors in One Setting
Brentwood, Tennessee (May 14, 2009) – Renal Advantage Inc. (RAI), the third largest for profit provider of dialysis services in the United States, today announced that it will hold its annual conference on May 14 – 17 at the Hyatt in Bonita Springs, Florida. This conference brings together RAI’s medical directors and center directors in joint learning sessions presented by leaders in the dialysis community.
Speakers for the conference will include such well-known industry experts as Drs. Alfred Cheung, Ed Jones, Rajiv Agarwal, Alp Ikizler, Richard Ward, William Finn, Anatole Besarab, Brent Miller, Alan Kliger and Derrick Latos. The conference will provide participants with the most current and innovative thoughts around some of the most challenging issues encountered with chronic kidney disease patients, which will bring renewed vision and momentum to meet those challenges. Also, at this conference, physicians earn their Continuing Medical Education Units (CMEs) necessary to maintain their medical licenses, and nurses earn their Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that can be used to maintain their nursing licenses and/or specialty certification.
“Our annual conference is a special opportunity for us to strengthen the connection between our medical directors and center directors,” said Michael D. Klein, Chief Executive Officer of Renal Advantage. “Combining these two groups of healthcare professionals enhances the working relationships at each of our care centers and instills a spirit of camaraderie throughout our organization. We make great strides at these meetings because they are very much a learning and working event. Attendees go back to their care centers with the most current information on important nephrology topics, increased enthusiasm, better focus and a strong sense of their importance to our company.”
Dr. Todd Gehr, medical director of Renal Advantage’s Mechanicsville Turnpike-Richmond Center, said, “We look forward to this unique opportunity to meet with other medical directors and center directors. The combination of medical and clinical staff enhances communication in the workplace. Also, the program and the sharing of experiences and data are invaluable to all of us and translate into even better quality of care for our patients.”
In addition to medical directors and center directors, other attendees include field regional directors, regional quality administrators, corporate office (center support team) directors, vice presidents and senior management.
