Renal Advantage Inc. Completes Purchase Of Three Illinois Dialysis Centers

BRENTWOOD, TENN.

Jan. 16, 2006 - Brentwood-based Renal Advantage Inc. (RAI) completed the purchase of three freestanding dialysis centers in Ill., bringing the total number of RAI Care Centers to 73 across 10 states. RAI is the fourth largest provider of dialysis services in the U.S.

The three Illinois RAI Care Centers were part of the original purchase divested as a result of DaVita Inc.'s acquisition of Gambro Healthcare US, which just received final regulatory approval from Illinois. The company has a solid changeover plan in place to ensure continuous patient care. Patients at RAI Care Centers will notice few changes in service, receiving dialysis at the same time and on the same days. Management services will be the same and are as follows:

  • RAI Care Center in Springfield, Ill. located at 1112 Centre West Drive: clinic director Martin Valtierra
  • RAI Care Center in Breese, Ill. located at 160 North Main Street: clinic director Geralyn Vogel
  • RAI Care Center in Fairview Heights, Ill. located at 821 Lincoln Highway: clinic director Geralyn Vogel

"I am pleased with our past success in transitioning the 70 clinics into RAI Care Centers," said CEO Michael Klein. "RAI employees' have easily adapted to the change. This makes me even more confident in our plan to grow our business in these and other markets."

RAI currently serves approximately 7,000 patients across 10 states: California, Nebraska, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida and Illinois.
