Clay Bittner
Vice President of Home Programs
Clay Bittner has over 15 years of managed health care experience in operations management, network management and sales. Most recently Mr. Bittner served as Vice President of Network Operations for Coventry Healthcare in Louisiana. His prior experience includes leadership positions in network operations with UnitedHealthcare and Foundation Health Plans of Florida. Bittner is a graduate of Auburn University where he earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing.
Sharon Burbage
Vice President of Clinical Services
Sharon Burbage has more than 36 years of experience in the dialysis industry. She oversees policy and procedure for clinical practice, quality assessment and response for the RAI Care Centers. Burbage formerly served as director of training and organizational development for Fresenius Medical Services Central Business Unit. She spent 15 years at Gambro Healthcare, serving in various positions. Burbage began her career as head nurse for dialysis at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and holds an undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
Mike Burney
Vice President of Laboratory Services
Mike has enjoyed over 25 years in the dialysis industry. He leads the laboratory related functions of RAI including Renalab and RAI’s local lab network. Mike most recently served as Vice President at Renal Care Group, Incorporated and where he was responsible for supporting its patients laboratory needs. Prior to RCG, Mike served 14 years as part of the management team at Dialysis Clinic, Incorporated in various roles including: Assistant Controller; Director of Internal Audit; and Administrator/CEO of DCI Laboratory. Mike holds a BBA degree in Accounting from Austin Peay State University and is a certified public accountant.
Alan Douglas
Vice President of Revenue Cycle
Alan Douglas has over 15 years of operational and financial management experience in healthcare. He currently leads the consolidated revenue cycle functions for the RAI Care Centers. Alan most recently served as Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations at Surgical Care Affiliates, formerly HealthSouth Surgery Division. His prior experience includes: Director of Internal Controls with HealthSouth where he directed the implementation/remediation of SOX revenue controls post-fraud; Manager in Internal Audit with HCA; and various operations management positions with Baptist Hospital & TCMC Affiliates in Nashville. Alan has Master of Business Administration degree from Belmont University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Tennessee Technological University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Eric Enderle
Vice President of Development
Eric Enderle has over 15 years of business development experience in health care mergers and acquisitions and investment banking. He most recently served as vice president of development at Ardent Health Services where he provided advisory services on acquisition and divestiture initiatives. Prior to Ardent, Enderle was vice president of the health care investment banking division at Credit Suisse First Boston.
Kirk Finchem
Vice President of Financial Operations
Kirk Finchem has more that 25 years of engineering, business, and consulting experience in consumer products, manufacturing, publishing, energy and healthcare. During his career, he has worked with Procter & Gamble, International Paper, and Southern Company. Kirk leads RAI’s budgeting, forecasting, and operations analysis efforts, working closely with the Finance and Operations teams to measure and improve performance. He earned an undergraduate degree engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
Monte Frankenfield
Vice President, Finance and Controller
Monte Frankenfield has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, healthcare operations management, banking and public company financial reporting and forecasting. Frankenfield most recently served as chief financial officer of SeniorHealth Incorporated, an operator of psychiatric and medical rehabilitation hospitals. Her prior experience includes twelve years in senior finance positions with PhyCor, Inc. (now Aveta Health, Inc.), a physician network management company, and seven years in public accounting. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with an undergraduate degree in accounting.
Gayle Franks
Vice President of Risk Management and Compliance
Gayle Franks, a registered nurse, has over 15 years of experience in risk management, claims management, patient and employee safety and OSHA compliance. Franks recently worked for Gambro Healthcare, Inc. where she created and developed an internal risk management department. Her leadership resulted in a decline in accidental losses and strengthening the financial position of the company.
Mark Gray
Vice President of Biomedical Services
Mark Gray has more than 22 years of experience in the field of dialysis. He most recently served as Vice President of Gambro Technical Services where he was responsible for the technical department that supported Gambro Healthcare Facilities. Prior to that, he was a Field Service Manager for Gambro Renal Products.
Sharon Lee
Vice President of Managed Care
Sharon Lee has more than 20 years of experience in the field of managed care. Lee most recently served as Vice President Managed Care at Apria Healthcare where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the managed care department. Prior to that, she led the managed care department for six years at Gambro/DaVita. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri with an undergraduate degree in English.
Linda Meador
Vice President of Human Resources
Linda Meador has more than 20 years of experience in human resources and organizational development. Most recently she was vice president at Housecall Medical Resources, Inc. Previously, she held similar positions with MDS Inc., Paragon Rehabilitation, Inc., Eckenfelder Inc, and HCA. She has a doctorate in educational leadership from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and in counseling and educational psychology from University of Tennessee. She has a graduate degree in communication theory from Memphis State University and an undergraduate degree from David Lipscomb College.
Angela Newman
Vice President of Supply Chain
Angela Newman has over 15 years experience in healthcare supply chain management. She most recently served as Vice President of Logistics for National Nephrology Associates where she was responsible for managing supply chain operations. Her prior experience includes management positions at FHP and Iasis Healthcare. She holds an MBA in Healthcare Management.
Vito Orlando
Vice President of Western Division
Vito Orlando RN, BSN, CNN- has been a dialysis administrator of chronic, acute and home dialysis services for over 25 years. During the course of his career in dialysis he has worked as a Renal Administrator of St Joespeh’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. Vito was also the CEO of Adamo Medical Service from 1992-2000. More recently Vito has worked as a Center Director, Acute Program Director and Regional Director for Gambro Healthcare, Inc.
Randy Overton
Vice President of Internal Audit
Randy Overton has more than 8 years of experience in external auditing, having most recently served as a manager at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. While at Deloitte, Overton served in the firm’s audit group with a primary focus on both publicly traded and privately-held clients in the healthcare industry. In addition, he served in the firm’s healthcare mergers & acquisitions group providing financial due diligence for both private equity firms and strategic buyers. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University with an undergraduate degree in accounting.
Sam Swann
Vice President of Eastern Division
Sam Swann has over 32 years experience in the Dialysis Industry working in biomed, acute dialysis and dialysis operations which originated at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland Ohio. More recently Sam has worked in Regional Director positions with various dialysis companies throughout the Midwestern United States and Florida. He attended Moody Bible College and Sawyer College of Business in Cleveland, Ohio.
Jim Tarwater
Vice President
Jim Tarwater has over 17 years of information services experience in the dialysis industry. He most recently served as assistant vice president of information services at Renal Care Group where he was responsible for the clinical, revenue, laboratory systems and their integration. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Science/Business from The University of West Florida, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Millsaps College.
